Chia puddings with Y.V.Fresh
Chia seeds are one of the most popular super foods going around. Although small, these seeds are full of nutrients such as fibre, protein, omega 3 and calcium. The seeds can be eaten in their raw form or soaked, where they will expand and gain a texture similar to cooked rice.
The general recipe the base of chia pudding is 2 ½ tablespoons of chia seeds to ¾ cup of a liquid of your choice, whether that be a type of milk or water.
Choc – Strawberry
· ½ cup coconut milk
· ¼ cup coconut water
· 2 ½ tablespoons black chia seeds
· 1 tablespoon cacao powder
· Honey (to taste)
Mix together and let it sit in the fridge for no less than 4 hours.
Top of with fresh, chopped strawberries, dark chocolate chips, coconut and granola.
Banana – Peanut butter
¾ cup almond milk
½ - 1 full small banana mashed
2 ½ tablespoons chia seeds
1 tablespoon melted peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Honey (to taste)
Mix together and leave it to sit in the fridge for 4 hours.
To top it off, chop up fresh strawberries and blueberries, put them on top and add a dollop of peanut butter.
Mixed berries
½ cup fresh mixed berries (we’ve chosen raspberries, blueberries and strawberries) blended with ¼ cup water
½ cup almond milk
3 tablespoons chia seeds
2 tablespoons maple syrup
A few drops of vanilla extract
Mix together and leave in fridge for 4 hours.
Top it of with more fresh berries, passionfruit pulp and caramelised walnuts for that extra crunch.
