Spring Allergy Relief Smoothie
The weather seems right for a smoothie, but with pollen building up, some of us may be a little bit too busy sneezing and going through boxes of tissue to enjoy the weather - not to mention a smoothie.
Instead of waiting until next season, why not combine your favourite drink with some immune boosters to fight your allergy symptoms this spring? We’ve got a recipe for you.
Ginger, blackberry and oat smoothie
Blackberries are loaded with vitamin C which can ease allergy symptoms, while ginger contains anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce swelling and irritation of the nasal passages, eyes and throat.
Ingredients:
¼ cup of rolled oats
½ cup of Y.V.Fresh blackberries
½ cup of natural flavoured yoghurt
½ tbsp of maple syrup
½ tsp of ginger
½ cup of water
½ cup of ice
Method:
Soak the oats in water for a few minutes until soft.
Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
To serve, pour mixture into glass and top with some Y.V.Fresh berries.
Enjoy!
